About the service:

We are looking for our Cook to have:
Must be able to demonstrate:
•    Good cooking skills
•    Ability to organise a catering environment
•    Basic administrative skills
•    Ability to supervise catering staff

Must be able to demonstrate:
•    Basic nutrition
•    Food and Hygiene regulations
•    Health and Safety regulations including COSHH regulations
•    Experience of HACCP Risk Assessments

Communication skills
Must be able to demonstrate:
•    Good spoken communication skills in order to relate well to staff and service users
•    Basic written communication skills in order to leave written instructions and to follow a stock control system
•    Basic computer keyboard skills, and the ability to use computer on a regular basis.  Examples of the level required may include , the use of the internet, and emails.
•    Desirable: Basic software packages to record and access information, including use of care management  
•    Must be able to demonstrate an understanding and awareness of Equality & Diversity.
•    Ability to work flexibly, responding to the needs of the service, ensuring that the home has staff cover, 365 days of the year.
•    Capability of working in a position that requires manual handling tasks as a core requirement
