Who are Ambient Support?

Ambient Support, a registered UK charity with over 25 years’ experience in providing care and support services for older people, people with a mental health needs and people with learning disabilities. 

 

Our residential care home, The Chestnuts, is a community-based home for Older People in Aylesbury. We provide care and support to 64 residents, including up to 48 residents with specific dementia care needs.  This is a welcoming home from home environment offering regular activities and organised events. The gardens at The Chestnuts are attractive and fully wheelchair accessible for residents and visitors alike. 

 

The role of our Care Assistant:

-          You will assist the people we support in participating in activities both within the Home and outside as well as escorting them to appointments in the community.

-          To fulfil a range of personal care tasks and other care work for both male and female people we support with various physical and emotional needs.

-          You will assist with simple food preparation on the suites and serve all meals to the people we support.

-          To work flexibly over a 24/7, 365 days a year basis, according to the demands of the service

-          You will be required to assist housekeeping staff with keeping communal areas clean and odour free.

 

Skills and attributes of our Care Assistant:

-          Experience of supporting adults in a care setting or in the community.

-          An awareness and understanding of high-quality home care.

-          Good communication skills, patience, and flexibility.

-          An understanding of safeguarding and person-centred support.

-          A flexible working pattern and able to do shift work.

-          Alternate weekend working pattern.

-          Experience is desirable, however, is not essential, as we offer full training for all of our Care Staff.
